AAU Africa Forum

A special Africa initiative is being considered at AAU. Innovation in higher education and research in relation to local needs and existing infrastructures, is the lead motive.

AAU has particular experience from capacity building work in higher education and research in Central America, South East Asia as well as Southern and Central Africa to build on. It builds on public-private partnerships and the special incentives created by universities as innovation hubs in the innovation process.

It includes professional areas such as land management, fisheries and food industry, industrial innovation, and environmental engineering and management.

Additionally, the Unesco Chair at AAU in problem based learning adds to the human resources and skills that AAU can offer in terms of upgrading university systems in alliances with local partners in business and administration.
